Navy football announced Sunday afternoon that it would be moving on from head coach Ken Niumatalolo after 15 years at the helm of the Midshipmen program.

The news comes after Niumatalolo and the Midshipmen lost to Army in the classic Army-Navy game Saturday afternoon.

Niumatalolo, who was born in Laie, Hawaii, finishes with a 109-83 record as a head coach. He and Navy finished the 2015 and 2019 seasons with an 11-2 record. he lost just 5 games to Army as head coach of the Midshipmen.

He started playing at Hawaii in college before getting into coaching. He was first a graduate assistant at Hawaii before joining Navy as a running backs coach. He had a brief stint at UNLV before returning to Navy as associate head coach and finally head coach in 2007.
