NCAA Tournament action gets underway in a little over a month. During a special on CBS that aired Saturday afternoon, representatives from the selection committee revealed an early look at their bracket as the season winds down.

The SEC grabbed 3 of the top 4 overall seeds in the field. Auburn took the No. 1 overall seed in unanimous fashion, followed by Alabama, Duke, and Florida. The rest of the reveal can be found below, broken down by region. The overall seed is listed in parentheses.

The SEC led all conferences with 6 teams placed among the top 16. With Tennessee and Texas A&M both slotted on the 2-seed line, the conference claimed 5 of the selection committee’s top 6 overall seeds.

Right behind the SEC was the Big 12, which saw 5 of its teams land inside the top 16 overall. The Big Ten had 3 teams while ACC had 1.

According to NCAA director of media coordination/statistics David Worlock, 84% of the teams who were featured in the initial bracket preview remained among the top 4 seeds in the final bracket. (The show began in 2017.) All 28 teams who were 1-seeds in the initial bracket preview held onto a top-4 seed in the final bracket.
