That duo is just a few of the B1G faces to hit the mat. According to Tom VanHaaren with ESPN, the conference boasts the most wrestlers in the competition with 7 No. 1 seeds from the B1G.
Those No. 1 seeds are Gable Steveson (285 lbs.), Myles Amine (184), Michigan’s Nick Suriano (125), and a quartet of Penn State wrestlers in Max Dean (197), Carter Starocci (174), Nick Lee (141), and Roman Bravo-Young (133).
VanHaaren also pointed out the sheer volume of B1G wrestlers competing compared to the rest of the field:
Its 88 wrestlers are 30 more than the next closest conference (Big 12), and 46 more than the next closest with the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association.
Stay tuned to see who takes home top honors in the nation.
