Three B1G baseball teams began their NCAA Tournament run on Friday evening, but only one was victorious.

Nebraska’s 8-6 victory over Northeastern was the lone highlight for the conference on the first night of the tournament. The Huskers overcame an early 4-0 deficit to get the victory and start the tournament off on the right foot.

Both Maryland and Michigan their opening games on Friday. Despite scoring the first run of the game, the Terrapins dropped a 13-10 decision to Charlotte, trailing most of the game. The Wolverines had cold bats against UConn, falling 6-1.

That means that both Michigan and Maryland are one loss away from elimination.

All three teams will be back in action on Saturday for the second game of the tournament. Michigan will play Central Michigan while Maryland will take on Norfolk State. Nebraska will play later in the evening, taking on Arkansas.
