Netflix's 'Last Chance U' switching sports after highlighting football for 5 seasons
There will be a change of sports for Netflix’s popular documentary series Last Chance U. After spending five seasons covering college football at the junior college level, the show will highlight a new sport.
On Tuesday morning, Last Chance U announced that it will begin following basketball after Season 5 airs this summer. The Netflix series has spent five years covering junior college football and has followed three programs during that time.

Last Chance U will officially be switching to basketball after Season 5 with Laney Football

Last Chance U first began following East Mississippi Community College and aired the first documentary series in the summer months of 2016. It spent one more year with that program before moving on to Independence Community College for the next two seasons.
This year, the program is highlighting Laney College.
The show did not indicate what college it will follow on the hardwood moving forward. Other details were not released at the time Last Chance U made the statement.
