Trade in the golf clubs for a helmet and shoulder pads because college football is headed to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

On Tuesday, it was reported that ESPN has created the Myrtle Beach Bowl, slated to begin in 2020. The conferences involved will be the MAC, C-USA and Sun Belt. The three conferences will rotate appearances.

The news was reported from multiple outlets, including NBC and Athlon Sports writer Bryan Fischer.

If all other bowl games were to remain in place, it would mean that 80 of the 130 teams in FBS will be participating in bowl games in 2020.

Myrtle Beach is a typical vacation destination for beach goers and golf fanatics. Over the years, it’s become one of the hubs for avid golfers.

In a few years, though, there will be another reason to visit the coast of South Carolina. Good thing they love their football down there, too.
