Newest Heisman Trophy odds have two from B1G in Top 5
Each week as the college football season rolls along, we get a better picture at which teams are better than the rest. That’s starting to sort itself out.
As for the elite players in CFB, we already know who those are. But when it comes to winning a Heisman Trophy, we have to look at statistics. Just because Ohio State beats Michigan State by 24 points, doesn’t mean that Justin Fields moves up in Heisman odds.

Stats matter, unfortunately, quite a lot when it comes to winning the Heisman.
On Tuesday, the newest odds were released and two B1G names are in the top five:
New Heisman odds via @betonline_ag. LSU’s Joe Burrow now 2nd choice behind Tua, Jalen Hurts drops to 3rdhttps://t.co/yfJOw3nxMu
Tua Tagovailoa 2/3
Joe Burrow 3/1
Jalen Hurts 7/2
Justin Fields 12/1
Jonathan Taylor 20/1
Jake Fromm 20/1
Trevor Lawrence 33/1
Sam Ehlinger 40/1— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) October 8, 2019
As you can see, quarterbacks make up the top four spots in terms of odds, which shouldn’t come as a massive shocker. Fields, the Ohio State QB, is fourth at 12/1, while the first non-QB is Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor at 20/1. He shared those odds with Georgia QB Jake Fromm.
Taylor will have a chance to held his odds of winning the heralded trophy this week as the Badgers host Michigan State and its stout defense.
