Sarah Thomas, an NFL official, is going to make league history in a few weeks.
The NFL revealed its officiating crew for Super Bowl LV on Tuesday and Thomas’ name was near the top of the list. She will become the first woman to ever officiate a Super Bowl, according to the league.
“Sarah Thomas has made history again as the first female Super Bowl official,” NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent said. “Her elite performance and commitment to excellence has earned her the right to officiate the Super Bowl. Congratulations to Sarah on this well-deserved honor.”
In 2019, Thomas became the first full-time female official in the NFL’s history.
Here’s the full officiating crew for Super Bowl LV, which is set for Sunday, Feb. 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida:
