With the 2022 NFL Draft in the books, one team is making a noteworthy change. The New York Giants have reportedly dismissed their director of college scouting, Chris Pettit.

Pettit has been the Giants’ director of college scouting since 2018 after 13 years with the team as an area scout. While the timing of Pettit’s dismissal will have people looking at the Giants’ 2022 draft, it’s likely just a change of personnel under a new general manager.

Joe Schoen became the Giants’ new general manager in January. In this year’s NFL Draft, the Giants selected 2 players from Big Ten teams.

Iowa DB Dane Belton was selected by the Giants in the fourth round at No. 114 overall. In the next round, the club selected Indiana Hoosiers LB Micah McFadden No. 146 overall.

The Giants’ 2022 draft class was widely praised by media members for early first-round picks Kayvon Thibodeaux (Oregon DE, No. 5) and Evan Neal (Alabama OL, No. 7).
