WATCH: Nike offers pro contract to Oregon runner Justin Gallegos, who has cerebral palsy
Sports are great.
The strategy behind why teams win, the games themselves, the fans… everything. But sometimes the best part of sports is the impact that is made on human beings.
Justin Gallegos, a runner at Oregon, has been greatly impacted by sports. Sports Illustrated shared a video on Twitter of Gallegos finishing a race. He thought nothing of it, other than it being an accomplishment and probably a bit of fatigue.
Cameras were around, but he just thought they were filming the finish line. Nothing special.
Except, the moment was about to be incredibly special.
Take a look as Gallegos receives a pro contract from Nike:

Winning games and placing first is great and all. But this, right here, is truly what makes sports great.
