The college football world is in for a shakeup – and a new No. 1 – as Alabama was stunned late Saturday night by unranked Texas A&M.

The Crimson Tide were in trouble and went to the half down by 14 points. However, Nick Saban’s squad turned things around and took a 38-31 lead in the fourth quarter.

The Aggies did not go quietly, battling back with the final 10 points of the contest. It all ended with a game-winning field goal as time expired for the 41-38 win:

Jimbo Fisher becomes the first former assistant of Saban to beat the legendary head coach. It is also Alabama’s first loss since the 2019 regular-season finale against Auburn.

It will be interesting to see where the Tide sit on Sunday’s new AP Poll. Iowa, entering the weekend at No. 3, will likely bump up one spot after taking down No. 4 Penn State.
