The B1G is traditionally home to some of college football’s best running backs. Last season was no exception, as names like Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin) and J.K. Dobbins (Ohio State) were often considered among the best ball carriers in the country.

But, heading into the 2020 season, there isn’t that one B1G running back who stands out among the rest — at least according to 247Sports. The website recently released its list of top 10 running backs returning to college football for next season.

No B1G players made the cut.

Obviously, with Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard, Clemson’s Travis Etienne and Alabama’s Najee Harris returning, there’s a few less vacancies inside the top 10. Still, it’s a rare occurrence when the B1G is left outside of a list pertaining to the best ball carriers in college football. Here’s a look at the top 10 list that 247Sports composed:

  1. Travis Etienne, Clemson
  2. Chuba Hubbard, Oklahoma State
  3. Najee Harris, Alabama
  4. Kenny Gainwell, Memphis
  5. Jaret Patterson, Buffalo
  6. Javian Hawkins, Louisville
  7. Kylin Hill, Mississippi State
  8. Kennedy Brooks, Oklahoma
  9. Bryant Koback, Toledo
  10. Pooka Williams, Kansas

Backs like Penn State’s Journey Brown, Ohio State’s Master Teague and Minnesota’s Mohamed Ibrahim could’ve easily been listed, but there’s obviously some pretty good ball carriers returning for the 2020 season.
