No Game: Michigan cancels rivalry game with Ohio State
The worst fear for fans of the B1G, Michigan and Ohio State is now a reality. One of the best rivalry games in college football has been canceled.
On Tuesday, Michigan announced that this weekend’s game against Ohio State has been canceled. The two teams were scheduled to play on Saturday, Dec. 12 to close out the B1G regular season.
Ohio State is 5-0 this season and Michigan is 2-4.
With the cancelation, Ohio State falls one game below the requirement to reach the B1G Championship Game, with the league setting a 6-game minimum requirement before the season started. The league could either attempt to get the Buckeyes a sixth game or change the requirement.
This marks the second straight game Michigan has had to cancel, also calling off last week’s game against Maryland.
Ohio State has won 8 straight games in the series.
