The North Carolina men’s basketball team is hoping its social media account can help land an opponent sometime in the next few days. With Tuesday’s ACC matchup against Virginia Tech postponed, the Tar Heels are trying to add a new game to the week.

Because of COVID-19 concerns within Virginia Tech’s basketball program, Tuesday’s game has been postponed. It will be the third straight game the Hokies have had to miss due to pandemic protocols. But North Carolina doesn’t want to just let this week pass by.

Instead, the program is asking for any interested opponents to reach out.

“We’re looking for a home game this week (February 16-18),” North Carolina’s tweet read. “Please contact us if interested.”

That doesn’t give a team much time to schedule a game and make travel arrangements to Chapel Hill. However, we’ve seen similar situations throughout the college football and basketball seasons, so anything is possible.

Will there be any takers for Carolina’s offer this week? With only a 3-day window to schedule the game, we’ll find out pretty soon.

North Carolina is 12-7 on the season with a 7-5 record in ACC play.
