Not so fast: Baylor delays win, trolls No. 8 Oklahoma with late timeout and FG
Baylor is riding high in Week 11 as the Bears toppled previously unbeaten No. 8 Oklahoma.
It was a brilliant performance for Dave Aranda’s squad as the defense forced Oklahoma into 2 turnovers. Those turnovers were interceptions thrown by Caleb Williams as the Sooners eventually changed QBs back to Spencer Rattler in the loss.
The big story in the game was Baylor calling a timeout with 1 second remaining and already up 24-14. It delayed the game a bit as fans – unaware to the timeout – began rushing the field prematurely.

Baylor used the time remaining to kick a field goal. That made the score 27-14 as time expired.

To his credit, Aranda claimed the field goal was not meaningless. He said the extra points were to aid in the Big 12 tiebreaker, should that be necessary to end the year.
Dave Aranda, tha God, on why he kicked field goal late against Oklahoma: "That was for the Big 12 tiebreaker. I want to be over 10."
