Notable QB, veteran with over 10,000 career yards hits transfer portal, per report
A notable QB is opting to head for the transfer portal less than 2 weeks from the 2022 season opener.
According to Chris Hummer with 247 Sports, Jarret Doege is heading for the transfer portal. Doege was at Western Kentucky and competing for a starting job with Austin Reed.
The first game for the Hilltoppers is on Aug. 27 against Austin Peay in Week 0. Doege’s reported decision could indicate Reed is in line for the starting job.

Doege transferred to Western Kentucky after beginning his career at Bowling Green and West Virginia. Doege has 10,494 career passing yards and a 64% completion percentage with 79 touchdowns.
In 2021, Doege appeared in 13 games for West Virginia with just over 3,000 yards and 20 total touchdowns. It will be interesting to see where he winds up next.
