Boston College head coach Steve Addazio was fired earlier this week and rumblings have surfaced as to who the next person in charge could be.

On Tuesday, odds were released by CBS Sportsline as to who the next coach of the Eagles will be:

  • Al Washington: +350
  • Pete Carmichael: +400
  • Jeff Hafley: +500
  • Luke Fickell: +600
  • Mike Elko: +800
  • Mike Reed: +850
  • Don Brown: +900
  • Bret Bielema: +1200

There are certainly some interesting names here. Al Washington is currently the linebackers coach at Ohio State. He has done his job admirably with the Buckeyes, to say the least. Washington is the favorite partially because of that, but also — most likely — because he’s a former Boston College player as well.

Jeff Hafley is another assistant at Ohio State, as he is the team’s co-defensive coordinator. Luke Fickell is another name with Ohio State ties, as he is currently Cincinnati’s head coach.

Don Brown is Michigan’s defensive coordinator and has also been rumored for the head coaching vacancy. Bret Bielema, finally, at +1200, is currently the New England Patriots’ defensive line coach. He was formerly the head coach at Wisconsin from 2006-12.
