Following Ohio State’s 52-17 victory over Minnesota, the Buckeyes decided to award the game ball to the person who was arguably most responsible for making their win possible: university president Dr. Kristina Johnson.

Dr. Johnson, along with several other key figures in the Big Ten, helped ensure the Big Ten would play a season this fall after the coronavirus pandemic put it in jeopardy.

The Buckeyes choosing to recognize her efforts is a very nice gesture:

This was Dr. Johnson’s first Ohio State game as university president after she succeeded Michael Drake in June.

On the field, Justin Fields led the way for the Buckeyes with three total touchdowns (two passing, one rushing).

Next week, Ohio State will travel to Penn State for Week 2 of the Big Ten season.
