Two of the B1G’s top teams are going head-to-head on Saturday when No. 2 Ohio State travels to Madison to play No. 8 Wisconsin. It’s a game with plenty of implications for both programs midway through the season and could be a make-or-break game for the Badgers.

It’s drawn so much attention that ESPN’s College GameDay will make its first appearance on a B1G campus this season as the two teams fight for hopes of an eventual bid in the College Football Playoff at the end of the year. The stakes got even higher on Monday when the AP Top 25 poll was released.

According to ESPN writer Jesse Temple, this will be the first time the two teams have battled as top 10 foes for the first time in 62 years. That seems like a lengthy period of time for two of the more dominant programs in the conference.

In the 2014 B1G Championship, Ohio State was ranked No.6 and Wisconsin entered No. 11. The Buckeyes dominated that game 59-0.

For both Paul Chryst and Urban Meyer, this will be another challenging B1G test where the winner gets one step closer to Indianapolis. Most people were going to be locked into this game anyway, but with both teams in the top 10, it should draw even more interest on Saturday.

Hopefully we won’t have to go another 62 years until these two teams square off as top 10 opponents again.
