One Power 5 division had an absolutely abysmal weekend on the field
College football is back in full swing, and week 1 brought some great matchups between Power 5 opponents. Week 1 usually also brings upsets along with it. 2021 was no different.
One power 5 division, in particular, had an awful start to the season as they finished the day 1-5. You may have already been asleep by then, but the Pac-12 North was the division that ended 1-5. Their lone win was the Oregon Ducks, who got a scare from Fresno State; Oregon would win the game 31-24.
Pac-12 North went 1-5 today:
Oregon beats Fresno State by a TD
Stanford loses 24-7 to K-State
Oregon St loses 30-21 to Purdue
Washington loses 13-7 to … Montana.
Cal loses 22-17 to Nevada
Wazzu loses 26-23 to Utah St.

The rest of the division lost while Oregon State and Stanford lost to Power 5 opponents in Purdue and Kansas State.
The rest of the division lost to a group of 5 or FCS foe. No.20 Washington was supposed to challenge Oregon in the North, and they laid an egg losing 13-7 to FCS Montana. Cal and Washington State lost to Mountain West opponents Nevada and Utah State, respectively.
Now that week 1 is behind them, the Pac-12 North better wake up quickly as they have games against No.4 Ohio State, Michigan and TCU all still left on the non-conference slate. Unless the Pac-12 North wants to be written off nationally before conference play even begins.
