Jim Harbaugh and Lovie Smith have each received their fair share of coaching criticism through their careers, especially at their latest stops in the Big Ten. They have some other things in common as well.

For one, they each took their NFL teams to the Super Bowl and lost. But this second parallel is much more shocking.

They both have one win against AP Top 10 teams with their current programs.

Smith just picked up his first AP Top 10 win against Wisconsin on Saturday. Yep, the same Wisconsin team that defeated Michigan, 35-14, in September. Granted, Illinois drew the Badgers at home while Michigan had to visit Madison, but still.

Smith actually has a better winning percentage against the AP Top 10 than Harbaugh as well. Smith is 1-5 in those games while Harbaugh is 1-10.

Michigan will likely get two more cracks at a Top 10 team this season. One will definitely come this weekend at home against Notre Dame. The other, assuming Ohio State stays in the Top 10, will be against the Buckeyes on the final Saturday of the regular season.
