Oregon is reportedly losing defensive lineman My’Keil Gardner to the transfer portal as we head into 2025.

Pete Nakos with On3 Sports shared the report of Gardner’s entry into the transfer portal. He was originally a 3-star recruit out of Arizona in the 2023 recruiting class.

Gardner appeared in 3 games as a true freshman with just 1 tackle. Unfortunately, his 2024 season was derailed before it could even get going. Gardner did not appear in action this fall while battling an undisclosed injury.

Gardner is the 11th Duck to enter the transfer portal this offseason after an undefeated regular season and Big Ten title. That group also includes edge players Jaeden Moore, Emar’rion Winston and Jaxson Jones along the defensive front.

Meanwhile, Oregon has landed 8 incoming transfers — so far — with Dan Lanning’s squad looking to replace key departures to the NFL. Running back Makhi Hughes (Tulane), receiver Malik Benson (FSU) and tight end Jamari Johnson (Louisville) are joining the offense to help replace Jordan James, Tez Johnson and Terrance Ferguson who are all heading to the NFL.

On the other side of the ball, former USC and Georgia DL Bear Alexander is being brought on to help contribute up front. We’ll see how those moves pan out.
