Oregon wasn’t perfect in a 38-19 win over Maryland on Saturday, but the Ducks improved to 10-0 heading into the final two games of the regular season. They’ll stay at No. 1 in Tuesday’s updated College Football Playoff rankings.

On Sunday, the Ducks gained another recruiting win, this time flipping a player from archrival Washington. Vander Ploog, a 4-star tight end from Los Angeles, announced that he had pledged to the Ducks after giving a verbal to the Huskies in March.

Ploog, from Taft Charter High School, is considered one of the prized TEs in the 2025 class, ranked No. 12 at that position by 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is also the No. 22 player in the state of California.

The 6-foot-6, 223-pounder currently holds 14 offers. The Ducks extended theirs in August, with Ploog taking an unofficial visit in October before an official one weeks later. That ultimately led to him backing off his pledge to Jedd Fisch’s program and committing to Oregon.

With Ploog’s commitment, the Ducks now have the No. 10 recruiting class in the country. Dan Lanning hauled in the nation’s No. 4 class in 2024, a year after landing the No. 9 class in 2023.
