Oregon gains commitment from 4-star 2026 LB
Oregon will play Penn State for a Big Ten championship on Saturday, but Dan Lanning and his staff celebrated a recruiting victory just moments before the game.
Tristan Phillips, a linebacker from the 2026 class, has announced his commitment to the Ducks. He becomes the 10th player of the cycle to pledge to the program, which is currently ranked No. 1 in the country by 247Sports.

Phillips, from Ventura, California, is considered the No. 29 linebacker in his class by 247Sports’ composite ranking and the No. 35 player in the state regardless of position. Counting Oregon, he has 18 offers, with the Ducks extending theirs in September.
Phillips’ commitment brings Oregon its first linebacker commit of the class — it now has 6 defensive recruits pledged.

The Ducks will be looking to eventually lock up the No. 1 class in the country for 2026, but Lanning just days prior secured the nation’s No. 4 class in the 2025 cycle. That was led by Dakorien Moore, the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver, and Na’eem Olford, the No. 1 cornerback in the country. Moore and Olford were two of four five stars that inked their NLIs with the Ducks during the Early Signing Period.
