Oregon is in its first year in the Big Ten.

Oregon is the No. 1 team in the nation and the only undefeated squad at the FBS level.

Dan Lanning has built a juggernaut in Eugene and the Ducks are running through their schedule like a hot knife through butter. OK, maybe it hasn’t been quite that easy, but Oregon is undefeated nonetheless.

And in a tight B1G title game bout against Penn State, the Ducks got a scare from the Nittany Lions. But, like it has throughout the year, the Oregon defense did enough in key moments to help the Ducks win.

Check out this incredible interception by Oregon DB Nikko Reed, who looked more like a wide receiver on this play than a defensive back:

That interception sealed the Ducks’ 45-37 victory and clinched a perfect regular season for Dan Lanning and company. They’ll be the No. 1 seed in the Playoff rankings on Sunday.

The game featured more points than many expected, but at every turn, these 2 teams proved why they belong in the College Football Playoff.

Now we’ll have to wait and see where Penn State is seeded, but it seems likely that these teams will feature heavily in the Playoff in the coming weeks.
