Oregon’s football and basketball programs both scored a huge bonanza on Saturday with the commitment of Kendre Harrison.

Harrison is the top-ranked tight end in the country from the 2026 class and plans to display his talents at Autzen Stadium as well as down the road for the Oregon basketball team, too. The dual-sport state champion out of Reidsville High School in North Carolina was named the 2023-24 MaxPreps Male National Athlete of the Year.

The 6-foot-7, 243-pound Harrison is also the No. 9 overall football player in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. The 5-star Harrison chose to go across the country to Eugene instead of staying in-state and playing at North Carolina. The football programs at Miami and Penn State were also in the mix for Harrison.

Harrison is a power forward for the basketball team at Reidsville. He’s rated a 4-star prospect in basketball by ESPN and the No. 39 player in his class.

With Harrison’s commitment, the football program is up to 8 players in its 2026 class so far.

That list also includes: 5-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene (California), 4-star running back Tradarian Ball (Texas), 4-star defensive linemen Tohumini Topui (California) and Tony Cumberland (Oregon), 4-star quarterback Jonas Williams (Illinois), 3-star defensive lineman Viliami Moala (Utah) and 3-star edge rusher Dutch Horisk (California).
