Oregon lands former USC DL Bear Alexander out of transfer portal
Oregon is preparing to take on the winner of the Tennessee-Ohio State game in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff. The Ducks earned the No. 1 seed after being the lone FBS to finish the regular season undefeated.
With the Ducks enjoying a bye week, the team is doing some work in the transfer portal. On Friday night, Dan Lanning and Oregon secured a commitment from former Georgia and USC defensive lineman Bear Alexander. Alexander reportedly chose the Ducks over Penn State and SMU.

Alexander started his career with the Bulldogs in 2022. As a freshman, the lineman collected 9 tackles and 2 sacks. However, Alexander left the Bulldogs after that season to secure more playing time with the Trojans.
In 2023, Alexander racked up 47 tackles, 2 pass deflections, and 1.5 sacks. In 2024, Alexander decided to redshirt after playing in the team’s first 3 games.
That decision made another trip into the portal seem likely, and that’s exactly what the former top prospect did on Dec. 9. Now, Alexander will be on his 3rd college program in 4 years. The defender has racked up 61 tackles and 3.5 sacks over parts of 3 seasons.
Before beginning college, Alexander starred for the IMG Academy in Florida. The 247Sports Composite ranking had the DL as the No. 9 player out of Texas in the 2022 class.
Alexander becomes the 6th player to commit to the Ducks via the portal so far. Meanwhile, the Trojans have seen Alexander and 18 other players leave via the portal.
