Oregon offensive lineman Marcus Harper II has not played in a month. The starter suffered a knee injury against Michigan and has not played since.

However, Harper’s latest post on social media seems to imply the lineman will suit up in the Big Ten Championship Game vs. Penn State. Harper posted a picture of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with the caption “It’s Time.”

Harper’s return would be huge for the Ducks as they prepare for a tough Penn State defense. The lineman’s leadership and experience are huge factors as well as Harper’s status as one of the longest-tenured Ducks.

In 2023, Harper played in every game for the Ducks and allowed 0 sacks in 749 snaps. Harper had 9 games last season in which he allowed 0 pressures, cementing himself as one of college football’s top guards. Harper helped the Ducks finish last season with the fewest sacks allowed in the country.

This season, the Ducks’ line has regressed slightly but is still among the nation’s best. Entering championship week, the team is tied for 11th in the nation in sacks allowed, and the o-line is a finalist for the Joe Moore Award for a 2nd straight season.

The Ducks are the lone undefeated team in the FBS. Their opponent, the Nittany Lions, are perfect save for a loss to Ohio State. Both of these teams appear to be safely in the College Football Playoff regardless of the outcome of this championship game.

Oregon is one of several teams looking to win a conference championship as a new member in 2024. The Ducks and Nittany Lions are kicking off from Indianapolis at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT.
