Oregon opens with clinical drive, TD after hurdle from Kenyon Sadiq vs. Penn State
Oregon and Penn State are off and running in Indianapolis, and the Ducks looked efficient on their opening drive of the game.
After receiving the opening kickoff, Oregon rolled 84 yards on just 9 plays in a little over 4 minutes. Only one play went backwards with Penn State sniffing out a run from Noah Whittington on 1st-and-10 on the edge of the red zone.
Fortunately, even that play set up a positive moment for the Ducks. Facing 2nd-and-15, Dillon Gabriel found tight end Kenyon Sadiq who was sneaking out into the flat.
It was an easy pitch and catch with plenty of green grass ahead, and Sadiq capped his run with an impressive move. As one Nittany Lion defender lined up for a tackle, Sadiq went up and over with a clean hurdle to get into the end zone.

Sadiq entered Saturday’s game with 21 catches for 268 yards this season but had not found the end zone. His touchdown is the 2nd of his Oregon career.
As for Gabriel, he was 3-for-3 on the opening drive for 48 yards and the touchdown.
Penn State did quickly respond with a big play of its own from Nicholas Singleton. However, that drive stalled out with a field goal, making 7-3 in favor of the Ducks after the first possession for each team.
