Oregon shows out with College GameDay's best October ratings since 2009
Oregon knows how to put on a show for “College GameDay,” and Eugene lived up to the hype with an electric performance in Week 7.
Over the weekend, ESPN’s popular pre-game show was on hand ahead of the major matchup vs. Ohio State, and it was a show full of intrigue. Even without Lee Corso able to attend, the environment was fantastic with the antics of the Oregon Duck and Kirk Herbstreit completing the show from a convertible and late on a plane as he med the trek to Texas for his broadcasting duties.
ESPN confirmed the ratings on Tuesday, and it goes down as GameDay’s best October episode of all-time since the show expanded to 3 hours. That expansion took place in 2009, 15 years ago. It was also the 2nd-best October episode in the history of the show.
The full broadcast averaged 2.3 million viewers with a 3.1 million average over the final hour. It peaked at 3.5 million viewers and delivered an 8% increase for the show over the same episode from the 2023 season.
