Oregon's win over OSU delivers best Big Ten primetime ratings in over 15 years
Oregon is making the most of its first season in the Big Ten, and the Ducks officially put the league on notice Saturday night.
With a stout appearance inside Autzen Stadium, Oregon delivered the clutch plays late in a thrilling 32-31 win over Ohio State. Taking down the No. 2 Buckeyes goes down as one of the best wins in program history and a massive statement for Dan Lanning’s program.
The win also was a massive success for NBC in the ratings department. On Monday, the network confirmed Saturday’s game goes down as the most-watched primetime game in the B1G since 2008.
According to the ratings, NBC’s broadcast averaged 10.2 million viewers while peaking at 13.4 million viewers from 10:45-11 pm ET in the final minutes of the game. That’s the best performance of a regular season B1G game since 2008 in a Penn State vs. Ohio State game on ABC.
The broadcast was viewed across NBC, Peacock and NBC Sports Digital.

With the win, Oregon is up to No. 2 in the latest AP Top 25 while Ohio State remains in the top 5 after a 1-point loss on the road. If the two teams do eventually face off for a rematch later in the season, it is bound to be another must-see game on national TV.
