Pac-12 team fires head coach following Week 11
The 2021 College Football season is starting to wrap up with some teams looking to conclude their season and prepare for next year.
The Washington Huskies are already moving on with their second-year head coach Jimmy Lake, who has accounted for an overall record of 7-6 in two short seasons. Washington is the third Pac-12 school to fire a head coach during the 2021 season.

On Sunday, Washington fired Lake as head coach after a terrible season on and off the field. This season, Washington has accounted for an overall record of 4-6 with a 3-4 record in Pac-12 play. They started off the season with a disastrous 13-7 home loss to Montana followed by a 31-10 road loss to Michigan.
Lake was suspended by Washington after grabbing one of his players by the facemask and shoving him in the back during the 26-16 loss to No. 4 Oregon on Nov. 6.
The recruiting at Washington has also decreased in productivity as they are currently ranked eighth in the PAC-12 in the 2022 National Signing Class.
Sources: Washington is expected to fire coach Jimmy Lake today. The school will not fire him for cause and plans to pay out the remainder of his buyout, which is subject to offset.

Washington fires coach Jimmy Lake after only 13 games. “He had to go,” source told @ActionNetworkHQ. “The recruiting was worst it’s ever been. We were fearing we’d revert back to the (Ty) Willingham days. He had very few allies here"
