Pair of B1G rivals included in Top 8 for 4-star LB in 2023 class
Two B1G schools are still in strong consideration for one of the nation’s top linebackers in the 2023 recruiting class.
On Monday, 4-star linebacker Josiah Trotter released the Top 8 schools he’s still considering in the recruiting process. Ohio State and Penn State made the cut, along with Notre Dame, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Clemson, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Trotter’s announcement was made on Twitter. He is considered to be one of the Top 300 overall prospects in the 2023 cycle, per 247Sports composite rankings.
First off I would like to thank God, I would not be here without him. I would like to thank all the coaches who have offered me to be able to play at the next level. I will be focusing on these 8 schools for the remainder of my process.@rledits24 @BrianDohn247 pic.twitter.com/vb13cIIjnv

Trotter is the son of former 4-time NFL Pro Bowler Jeremiah Trotter, who attended Stephen F. Austin. His brother, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., was a member of Clemson’s 2021 recruiting class.
Per 247Sports, the younger Trotter ranks as the No. 24 linebacker in the 2023 recruiting class. The Philadelphia native has received over a dozen offers and has eliminated Marshall, Maryland, Oregon, Syracuse, Temple and Tennessee from consideration.
Penn State currently owns the B1G’s top-ranked class in the 2023 cycle and sits No. 4 nationally. Ohio State is No. 2 in the league and is No. 7 in the country.
