Pair of former B1G stars winning battle in the trenches this NFL season
Two former B1G standouts are now standing out in the NFL this season.
Micah Parsons and Nick Bosa both made the list of top 10 players in total pass rush wins regardless of position this season. Typically, win rates are figured solely in terms of winning percentage. However, this list factors in playing time, as some face more opponent pass plays than others.
According to this stat, Parsons ranked third on the list with 53 pass rush wins, while Bosa was slightly below at No. 6 with 50 tallied pass rush wins.
Here’s the full list per ESPN’s Seth Walder:
Usually look at win rates in terms of, well, rates. But obviously some players play more than others (and/or face more opponent pass plays).

In his collegiate career at Penn State, Parsons was a consensus All-American, the Butkus–Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year Award winner, and the Cotton Bowl Defensive MVP. As a pro in the NFL, Parsons was named Defensive Rookie of the Year following the 2021 season. Parsons was also voted into the Pro Bowl, and was named 1st Team All-Pro by the Associated Press.
Similar to Parsons, Bosa had an outstanding collegiate career before making waves as a pro in the NFL. As a sophomore, Bosa was named the Smith-Brown B1G Defensive Lineman of the Year, as well as a consensus All-B1G first-team member. He was drafted second overall in the 2019 Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
