B1G still has three New Year's Six teams in latest CBS Sports bowl projections
For the first time all year, Ohio State is on the outside looking in.
CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm had a B1G shakeup following Michigan State’s last-second victory in Columbus on Saturday. The Buckeyes, who Palm has had in one of the top three spots all season, was replaced by MSU in his latest bowl projections.
Ohio State did remain in a New Year’s Six bowl, which means Palm is assuming the Buckeyes will beat Michigan this weekend.
He made a few other assumptions.
Based on the fact that he has five-win Nebraska playing in the Armed Forces Bowl, he believes the Huskers will pick up a win against Iowa this weekend. But he also has the Hawkeyes likely losing to Michigan State in the B1G Championship and still earning a spot in the Rose Bowl.
He’s also assuming Indiana wins this weekend to clinch bowl eligibility while Illinois and Minnesota both fall in their regular-season finales.
So take that, and take these projections for what they’re worth:
Cotton Bowl: Michigan State vs. Alabama (College Football Playoff)
Rose Bowl: Iowa vs. Stanford
Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State vs. Houston
Citrus Bowl: Michigan vs. Georgia
Outback Bowl: Northwestern vs. LSU
Holiday Bowl: Wisconsin vs. Utah
Music City Bowl: Penn State vs. Utah
Armed Forces Bowl: Nebraska vs. Air Force
Foster Farms Bowl: Indiana vs. Air Force
