With three top six teams at the conclusion of the regular season, there wasn’t much doubt that the B1G was going to be looking favorable in bowl projections. In fact, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm has three B1G teams earning New Year’s Six bowl bids.

The question, however, was whether or not the B1G would have a deeper projected field because of its three 5-7 teams. As it was revealed on Monday, the NCAA will determine its 5-7 bowl teams based on Academic Progress Rate.

That means Nebraska automatically has a bowl bid because it ranks first among remaining 5-7 teams in APR. It could also mean that Illinois and Minnesota could crack the field if a few five-win teams don’t win this weekend.

But Illinois was not slotted by Palm.

Here’s where he had each B1G team tabbed (notice that Ohio State/Houston matchup with a Tom Herman reunion):

Cotton Bowl: Michigan State vs. Alabama (College Football Playoff)

Rose Bowl: Iowa vs. Stanford

Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State vs. Houston

Citrus Bowl: Michigan vs. Ole Miss

Outback Bowl: Northwestern vs. Tennessee

Holiday Bowl: Wisconsin vs. Utah

Music City Bowl: Penn State vs. Georgia

Armed Forces Bowl: Nebraska vs. Air Force

Foster Farms Bowl: Indiana vs. USC

Pinstripe Bowl: Minnesota vs. NC State
