Paul Finebaum believes Minnesota’s shot at a College Football Playoff berth takes a serious hit today.
Saturday morning, Finebaum joined SportsCenter to make his weekly picks for some of the biggest college football games on the schedule. One of those matchups is No. 8 Minnesota against No. 19 Iowa. The Golden Gophers enter the game with a perfect 9-0 record, looking for another signature win.
Iowa is hoping to play spoiler. Finebaum believes that’s what we’ll see at Kinnick Stadium.
“They’ve been the focal point for a couple weeks now, but they have to win today,” Finebaum said. “I think the Hawkeyes get it done and the Minnesota dream goes down hard today.”
Minnesota has not won at Kinnick Stadium in two decades, with the last win coming in 1999. The Hawkeyes have also won four straight games in the head-to-head series.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.
