College football radio host Paul Finebaum has an interesting College Football Playoff field through four weeks.

Finebaum went on SportsCenter on Sunday morning and gave his top four as it currently stands:

  1. Alabama
  2. Georgia
  3. Oregon
  4. Penn State

It’s no surprise to see Alabama and Georgia at the top — both teams have huge nonconference wins on their résumé and are likely to meet in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game later this year.

Oregon gets a spot in the top four by virtue of its road win against Ohio State back in Week 2. The Ducks have looked impressive this year, even without 5-star defenders Kayvon Thibodeaux and Justin Flowe at times.

Finebaum also gave some respect to Penn State, who is quietly having an impressive season. The Nittany Lions already have two ranked wins — over Wisconsin and Auburn — and look much-improved under first-year offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich.

“They were pedestrian yesterday against Villanova, but I really like what I’ve seen from them so far, although the Wisconsin and Auburn wins have been seriously discounted,” Finebaum said on SportsCenter, via Saturday Down South. “They have IU this weekend and Iowa coming up.”

Finebaum also said Iowa is close to making into his top four.

Penn State and Iowa will meet at Kinnick Stadium on Oct. 9.
