The college football season isn’t quite over just yet. There’s still one game remaining, as No. 1 Alabama will take on No. 2 Clemson in Santa Clara with the national championship hanging in the balance.

Everything else has been decided.

With all the other bowl games over, SEC Network host Paul Finebaum put together his list of top 10 teams from the college football seasons. While Alabama and Clemson still have one game left, it’s been clear that those two teams have been the best all season long. The outcome of that game won’t affect anything other than those top two spots.

Half of Finebaum’s top 10 were from the SEC. He listed five teams in the top 10 out of the conference. The Big XII had two and the B1G and ACC each had one.

Here’s how Finebaum’s top 10 list looked:

It’s hard for the B1G to make much of an argument for more teams in the top 10. No. 7 Michigan was blown out by No. 10 Florida in the Peach Bowl and No. 12 Penn State lost to No. 14 Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl.

No other team from the conference was really sniffing the top 10 spots.

We’ll see how close Finebaum’s top 10 is to the one the Associated Press releases after the national title game on Monday.
