Paul Finebaum releases new SEC-heavy Top 6 heading into Rivalry Week

Paul Finebaum has released his latest top six rankings, and it’s still pretty SEC heavy. The SEC Network host has three teams from the conference listed in his top six this week, accounting for half of the list.

Finebaum has both LSU and Georgia listed inside the top four, putting both teams firmly in the College Football Playoff picture. He also has Ohio State and Clemson in the other two slots right now. On the outside looking in are Alabama and Utah.

Here’s Finebaum’s updated top six:

  1. LSU (11-0)
  2. Ohio State (11-0)
  3. Clemson (11-0)
  4. Georgia (10-1)
  5. Alabama (10-1)
  6. Utah (10-1)

Clemson enjoyed the week off, while the other five teams posted victories. LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Georgia have all also punched their ticket to their respective conference championship games, giving all four a chance for a resumé-boosting win.

We’ll see if the College Football Playoff selection committee feels the same way Finebaum does about the top six after this week.
