Pennsylvania Edge prospect, B1G target for class of 2023 sets commitment date
One Edge prospect for the class of 2023 is still considering a couple of B1G programs, and he’s beginning to wind down his recruitment.
The player is Jameial Lyons out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Penn State and Illinois made the cut for Lyons’ top-5 list in March alongside Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and West Virginia.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Lyons is a 3-star recruit and the No. 40 Edge prospect nationally for 2023. He is also rated the 13th-best player out of Pennsylvania for the cycle.
As things currently stand, Penn State holds the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation with 9 commitments for the cycle. That group is also the top-ranked class in the B1G. Illinois currently holds 2 commitments for the class of 2023 and that group is ranked 43rd nationally.
