PFF includes 4 B1G receiving corps among nation's best entering 2022
Who has the top receiving corps going into the college football season? PFF says at least 4 B1G teams have the best wide receiving corps in the country: Ohio State (No. 2), Michigan Wolverines (No. 6), Maryland (No. 8), and Penn State (No. 9).
Here is a snippet of what PFF said about each school and its receiving corps.
Ohio State
Garrett Wilson was the second receiver taken in the 2022 draft, and Chris Olave came off the board third. Neither was Ohio State’s best receiver last year. Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the Power Five in PFF grade, receiving yards and yards after the catch as a sophomore. Unsurprisingly, he’s PFF’s top receiver in the country.
Michigan Wolverines
Michigan’s five leading receivers from last year all return, and that’s not even counting PFF’s No. 19 receiver Ronnie Bell, who missed all but one game last year with a knee injury.
Maryland
The Terps have a top-five receiving duo in the country in Dontay Demus Jr and Rakim Jarrett who both rank in the top 20 of PFF’s preseason wide receiver rankings. Before suffering a season-ending knee injury, Demus had the second-most yards after the catch in the Power Five.
Penn State
Maryland isn’t the only Big Ten school with multiple receivers in PFF’s top 20. Parker Washington and Mitchell Tinsley are ranked No. 13 and No. 14 respectively giving the Nittany Lions one of the best receiving duos in the nation.
If these rankings are correct, the B1G will have several explosive offenses in the conference this upcoming year.
