There may not be a conference better at producing edge defenders for the 2022 NFL Draft than the B1G. According to Pro Football Focus, the league has four of the five best players at the position in this class.

PFF has Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo, Purdue’s George Karlaftis and Penn State’s Arnold Ebiketie among the best edge players in this year’s draft class. The lone non-B1G defensive edge? Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Hutchinson, who is in the running to be the No. 1 overall selection in this year’s draft, is listed as the best edge in the class. Karlaftis comes in at No. 3 with Ojabo and Ebiketie listed at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

That’s a pretty big compliment to the B1G.

There’s still a lot of time between now and the NFL Draft. The Senior Bowl, NFL Combine and pro days are still yet to be conducted, which could alter some of these rankings in the coming weeks.

For now, though, it looks like the B1G is home to some of the nation’s best edge defenders.
