With college football media days coming up, it’s only a matter of time before the preseason polls are released and we start analyzing which teams are too high and which are too low. But before those rankings come out, college football guru Phil Steele has some predictions.

Every year, the college football magazine producer predicts which teams he believes will occupy the preseason top 10. Steele, like most everyone, has Clemson and Alabama near the top. He also has two B1G teams cracking the top 10.

Here’s what Steele expects the preseason top 10 to look like:

  1. Clemson
  2. Alabama
  3. Georgia
  4. Oklahoma
  5. Ohio State
  6. LSU
  7. Florida
  8. Notre Dame
  9. Michigan
  10. Texas

It should be noted that Steele believes 2019 will be the year Michigan gets over the hump, beating Ohio State, winning the B1G East and reaching the College Football Playoff. He thinks that the Buckeyes will start the year a little higher in the rankings, though.

Soon enough, we’ll see how close Steele’s prediction is to the actual top 10.
