Power 5 program fires AD heading into Week 12
After several seasons of disappointing results and bad decisions, the University of Miami is moving on from Athletic Director Blake James. Miami hired James in 2013 to lead the program back to competing for National Championships, but that has not come to fruition.
Since 2013, Miami has had one season where the Hurricanes accumulated 10 wins and only 3 seasons where they finished in the top 25. During the time James has been the AD at Miami, he has fired Al Golden, hired former Georgia head coach Mark Richt, and hired former Temple head coach Manny Diaz.

This season, Miami has accounted for an overall record of 5-5 with the most recent result being a 31-28 road loss to archrival Florida State. Diaz is currently 19-15 in his three years at Miami.
After being dismissed as AD, James had this to say for the program:
“It has been an honor to lead Miami athletics and to be a part of such a world-class institution,” said James. “I am proud of the work that we have done together, though I know there is still more yet to be achieved…I wish the canes nothing but the best and look forward to my next endeavors.”
