Power 5 program fires head coach, AD status up in the air following down seasons
Georgia Tech has been in the news as of late, and not for good reasons. Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that head coach Geoff Collins has been fired, and that another firing in the athletic department might be in the near future.
Collins posted a 10-28 record during his time at Georgia Tech. Apparently AD Todd Stansbury’s future is going to be discussed at GTAA board’s meeting on Monday. Another topic that is going to be talked about the confirmation of Collins’ buyout.

Collins stepped in after longtime head coach Paul Johnson retired following the team’s bowl game in the 2018 season. Johnson was known for his flexbone option style of offense.
It’s unsure at this time as to who will be the interim head coach while the university conducts its search. Before Georgia Tech, Collins was most recently the head coach at Temple from 2017-2018.
Changes are coming to the Georgia Tech football program.
