With another week of the college and NFL seasons in the books, Pro Football Focus (PFF) has updated its mock draft for the 2021 NFL Draft. Several B1G names were included as first-round projections.

PFF updated its four-round mock draft, but we’re focusing on just the first-round projections for now. There were plenty of B1G names to make the cut, and perhaps some surprising inclusions.

Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons was the highest-rated B1G player in the mock draft, coming in at No. 3 overall. He was followed by Purdue’s Rondale Moore who was listed in the No. 5 slot and Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields cracked the top 10 at No. 9.

Four other B1G names made the cut:

  • No. 3: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
  • No. 5: Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
  • No. 9: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
  • No. 10: Jayson Oweh, DE, Penn State
  • No. 17: Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
  • No. 19: Shaun Wade, CB, Ohio State
  • No. 20: Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State

Penn State accounted for the most first-round selections in this week’s projections with three. Ohio State had two while Purdue and Minnesota each had one. The B1G was pretty split in terms of sides of the football, with four offensive players and three defensive stars in the first round.

Currently, six of the seven players on the list are planning to play this season, with the B1G season now scheduled to begin on Oct. 24. Parsons is the only player who has not opted back in.
