It used to be that statistics were pretty simple. Rushing yards, passing yards, completions, interceptions — really not that complicated.
But today statistics are kept for nearly every facet of a football game, from yards after catch to points responsible for. One of the lesser known statistics for rushing, is forced missed tackles. Apparently, it’s a pretty important measure, as the top 4 players ranked in the category this week are from just two teams, and both won.
Michigan’s Hassan Haskins led the way with 14 missed tackles, and teammate Blake Corum logged 11 during the Wolverines 33-7 win over Northwestern. Even Illinois got in on the action this week, and during the Illini’s 20-18, 9 OT win over Penn State, Josh McCray had 12 Nittany Lions miss bringing him down, while Chase Brown broke away from 10.

It’s pretty impressive for all four players to come out of the B1G. Even more so when it’s multiple players from just two teams.
Will all four of these B1G backs be able to keep it up throughout the rest of the season?
