Report: 3 Clemson players fail drug test days before CFB Playoff semifinal game

Three Clemson players have failed drug test just days before the Tigers take on Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl, according to a report.
Jori Epstein of USA Today reported Monday that the NCAA notified head coach Dabo Swinney that Dexter Lawrence (defensive tackle), Zach Giella (offensive lineman) and Braden Galloway (tight end) all failed drug tests with a “sliver of ostarine.” There isn’t much clarity on the situation currently, but more information should be available with the B sample later in the week.
A failed NCAA drug test would lead to an immediate suspension for all three players.

Lawrence would be the biggest story, should he be suspended for the matchup. The defensive tackle is one of the stars along Clemson’s offensive line, recording 37 tackles, 7.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks for the year.
Giella has played in 11 games this season, rotating in on the offensive line. Galloway has appeared in all 12 contests for the Tigers, catching five passes for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Clemson will take on Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff semifinal Cotton Bowl game on Dec. 29.
