It has already been reported that there are a number of contingencies being discussed about this year’s Rose Bowl. However, a new report from Monday indicated that teams from the ACC and SEC – including Notre Dame – are applying the pressure to try and get this year’s Rose Bowl and CFP Semifinal moved out of Pasadena.

According to Stewart Mandel with The Athletic, contenders from within the ACC and SEC are trying to relocate the game due to current restrictions in the state of California. Mandel also reported that if the game is relocated, it would be the first time there is not a Rose Bowl played in over 100 years:

The four teams for the Playoff will be announced just six days from now, on Sunday, Dec. 20 with the semifinal games set for New Year’s Day, just over two and a half weeks away. Is it really possible the Playoff could make a move this late in the game to accommodate certain contenders? Stay tuned.
